Lord Teach me...

Lord...
Help me to tell the truth before the strong;
and not to tell lies to win the applause of the weak.
If you give me fortune, don't take away my reason.
If you give me success, don't take away my humility.
If you give me humility, don't take away dignity.
Help me always to see the other side of the coin,
don't let me blame others of treason because they don't think like me.
Teach me to love people like unto myself
and not to judge myself like unto others.
Do not let me fall into pride without triumph,
neither in desperation without failure.
Rather remember me that failure
is the experience that precedes triumph.
Teach me that forgiveness is a sign of greatness
and that revenge is a sign of lowness.
If you remove from me success, leave me strength to learn from failure.
If I offend people, give me courage to apologize
and if people offend me, give courage to forgive.
Lord...if I forget you, never forget me!

As I began to Love myself

As I began to love myself I found that anguish and emotional suffering are only warning signs that I was living against my own truth.
Today, I know, this is “AUTHENTICITY“.

As I began to love myself I understood how much it can offend somebody as I try to force my desires on this person, even though I knew the time was not right and the person was not ready for it, and even though this person was me.
Today I call it “RESPECT“.

As I began to love myself I stopped craving for a different life, and I could see that everything that surrounded me was inviting me to grow.
Today I call it “Maturity“.

As I began to love myself I understood that at any circumstance, I am in the right place at the right time, and everything happens at the exactly right moment, so I could be calm.
Today I call it “SELF-CONFIDENCE“.

As I began to love myself I quit steeling my own time, and I stopped designing huge projects for the future. Today, I only do what brings me joy and happiness, things I love to do and that make my heart cheer, and I do them in my own way and in my own rhythm.
Today I call it “SIMPLICITY“.

As I began to love myself I freed myself of anything that is no good for my health – food, people, things, situations, and everything the drew me down and away from myself. At first I called this attitude a healthy egoism.
Today I know it is “LOVE OF ONESELF“.

As I began to love myself I quit trying to always be right, and ever since I was wrong less of the time.
Today I discovered that is “MODESTY“.

As I began to love myself I refused to go on living in the past and worry about the future. Now, I only live for the moment, where EVERYTHING is happening.

Today I live each day, day by day, and I call it “FULFILLMENT“.

As I began to love myself I recognized that my mind can disturb me and it can make me sick. But As I connected it to my heart, my mind became a valuable.
Today I call this connection “WISDOM OF THE HEART“.

We no longer need to fear arguments, confrontations or any kind of problems with ourselves or others. Even stars collide, and out of their crashing new worlds are born.
Today I know THAT IS “LIFE“!

SMILE :-)

A smile costs nothing but gives much.

It enriches those who receive without making poorer those who give.

It takes but a moment, but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever.

None is so rich or mighty that he cannot get along without it and none is so poor that he cannot be made rich by it.

Yet a smile cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen, for it is something that is of no value to anyone until it is given away.

Some people are too tired to give you a smile.

Give them one of yours, as none needs a smile so much as he who has no more to give.

It takes a lot of work from the face to let out a smile, but just think what good smiling can bring to the most important muscle of the body... the heart.

Today, give a stranger one of your smiles.  It might be the only sunshine he sees all day.

A smile confuses an approaching frown.

A smile is a curve that sets everything straight.

Smile.  Have you ever noticed how easily puppies make human friends?  Yet all they do is wag their tails and fall over.

The world always looks brighter from behind a smile.

Start every day with a smile and get it over with another one :-)

A smile is an inexpensive way to change your looks.

The robbed that smiles, steals something from the thief.

If you smile when no one else is around, you really mean it.

If you smile at someone, they will probably smile back.

Life is like a mirror, we get the best results when we smile at it.

Always remember to be happy because you never know who's falling in love with your smile.

Everyone smiles in the same language.

If you don't have a smile, I'll give you one of mine.

A laugh is a smile that bursts.

The shortest distance between two people is a smile.

If you don't start out the day with a smile, it's not too late to start practicing for tomorrow.

A kind heart is a fountain of gladness, making everything in its vicinity freshen into smiles.

A smile is the universal welcome.

Everytime you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing.

A smile can brighten the darkest day.

It takes seventeen muscles to smile and forty-three to frown.

Peace begins with a smile.

A smile is a powerful weapon; you can even break ice with it.

Most smiles are started by another smile.

A smile is something you can't give away; it always comes back to you.

Same way you treat your parents your children will treat you.

Dad said that Granddad was going away.
Peter had not really believed his Dad would send Granddad away.
But now -- there it was -- the going-away gift.
The blanket a gift from his Dad to his Granddad . . . a going-away gift.
It was a big, double blanket.
"Now, isn't that a fine blanket?!" said the old man, smoothing it over his knees. "And isn't your father a kind man to be giving the old man a blanket like this to go away with? It costs something, it did look at the wool in it! And warm it will be these cold winter nights to come. There will be no other blanket like it up there."
Granddad was trying to make it easier. Ever since they had talked about
"going away," Granddad had said it was his idea. Imagine -- leaving a warm house, family and friends to go to that building . . . where he would be with so many other old fellows.
But Peter had not really believed Dad would do it, until this night when he brought home the blanket.
Dad cleared his throat . . . "I . . . wanted him to have the best. . . ."
looking at the blanket. "Mmmm . . . it's a double one, too."
"Yes," the old man said, "it's a double one . . . a fine blanket for an old fellow to be going away with."
The boy suddenly said: "Granddad doesn't need a double blanket. Here, Dad " -- and he held out a pair of scissors -- "Cut it, Dad . . . cut the blanket in two." Both of them looked at the boy surprised.
The boy said: "Cut it in two, And keep the other half"
"We’ll save the other half, Dad;
It will come in useful later when you're old and I'm sending you away."

Kids learn from their parents. Same way you treat your parents your children will treat you.

Be Thankful

Blessed are those that can give without remembering and receive without forgetting.
Difficulties are opportunities to better things; they are stepping stones to greater experience.
Perhaps someday you will be thankful for some temporary failure in a particular direction. When one door closes, another always opens.
Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.
Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.
Develop an attitude of gratitude, and give thanks for everything that happens to you, knowing that every step forward is a step toward achieving something bigger and better than your current situation.
If the only prayer you ever say is thank you, it will be enough.
It isn't what you have in your pocket that makes you thankful, but what you have in your heart.
Let us be grateful to people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.
Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful.
No one who achieves success does so without the help of others. The wise and confident acknowledge this help with gratitude.
People who live the most fulfilling lives are the ones who are always rejoicing at what they have.
The thankful heart will find, in every hour, some heavenly blessings.
There is always, always, always something to be thankful for.
You won't be happy with more until you're happy with what you've got.

Prayers answered

God answers prayers in three ways:
He says yes and give you what you want.
He says no and gives you something better.
He says wait and gives you the BEST.

But if he loves you now, what else matters?

You aren't going to be his first, his last, or his only...
He’s loved before. He will love again, But if he loves you now, what else matters?
He’s not perfect - you’re not either. If he can make you laugh and if he admits to being human and making mistakes, hold on to him and give him the most you can. He’s not going to be thinking about you every moment of the day, but he will give you a part of him that he knows You can break - his heart. So don’t hurt him, don’t change him, don’t analyze and don’t expect more than he can give. Smile when he makes you happy, let him know when he makes you mad and miss him when he’s not there. Because perfect guys don’t exist, but there’s always ONE guy that is perfect for you."

Tips for life

There are moments in life when you miss someone so much that you just want to pick them from your dreams and hug them for real!

When the door of happiness closes, another opens; but often times we look so long at the closed door that we don't see the one, which has been opened for us.
Don't go for looks; they can deceive.

Don't go for wealth; even that fades away.

Go for someone who makes you smile, because it takes only a smile to
make a dark day seem bright.

Find the one that makes your heart smile.
Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do.
May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to make you happy.
The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.

The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can't go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling.
Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone
around you is crying.

Live like it's heaven on earth."

" You've gotta dance like there's nobody watching,
Love like you'll never be hurt,
   Sing like there's nobody listening,
And live like it's heaven on earth."

The PEOPLE I like...

I like the people that vibrate, that don’t need to be pushed, that you don’t have to tell them to do stuff, because they know what needs to be done and just do it.
I like the people that cultivate their dreams until those dreams take over their own reality.
I like the people that are able to face the consequences of their actions, people that risk what’s true for what’s uncertain to go after a dream, people that allow themselves to run from “sensitive advice” leaving solutions in the hands of our father God.
I like the people that are fair with their own people and themselves, people that are thankful for each new day, the good things existing in their life, people who live every hour with good enthusiasm giving their best, thankful for being alive, for being able to give smiles, for being able to offer their hands and help kindly, waiting for nothing in return.
I like the people that are capable of criticizing me constructively and up front, but without hurting me. People with tact.
I like the people with sense of justice. These are the people I call my friends.
I like the people that acknowledge the importance of joy and preaches about it.
I like the people that with jokes teach us to conceive life with humor.
I like the people that never stop being childish.
I like the people that are sincere and honest, capable of opposing with reasonable arguments to anyone’s decisions.
I like the people that are loyal and persistent, that fight tirelessly for their goals and ideas. I like people with criteria, that are never ashamed of recognizing a mistake or recognizing ignorance about something. People that, when accepting their mistakes, genuinely make an effort not to make them again. People that fight against adversities. People that look for solutions. People that think and meditate. People that value their equals not by a social stereotype or how they look. People that don’t judge and don’t let others judge. I like people with personality. People capable of understanding that humanity’s biggest mistake is to try to get out of their head something that won’t go out of their heart.
Sensitivity, courage, solidarity, kindness, respect, peace, values, joy, humility, faith, happiness, tact, trust, hope, gratitude, wisdom, dreams, regret, and love for others and oneself are fundamental things to be called PEOPLE.
With people like this, I can commit to anything for the rest of my life, because just by having them next to me, I consider myself well rewarded.

More and Less...

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but
shorter tempers, wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but
have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller
families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less
sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems,
more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little,
drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too
little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too
much, love too seldom, and hate too often. We've learned how to make a
living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've
been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street
to meet a new neighbour. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things. We've cleaned up the air, but
polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write
more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to
rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to
produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods, and slow digestion, big men and small
character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of
two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are
days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night
stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to
quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and
nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to
you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just
hit delete.

Remember, spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going
to be around forever. Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to
you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your
side. Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is
the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

Remember, to say, "I love you" to your partner and your loved ones, but
most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from
deep inside of you. Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for
someday that person will not be there again. Give time to love, give time to
speak, and give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

Mother Teresa's Quotes:

  • It is not how much you do, but how much love you put into the doing that matters.
  • How can there be too many children? That is like saying there are too many flowers.
  • I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish that He didn't trust me so much.
  • If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.
  • The most terrible poverty is loneliness and the feeling of being unloved.
  • If you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one.
  • Love is like a fruit in season at all times. Love can warm three winter months
  • The hunger for love is much more difficult to remove than the hunger for bread.
  • We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature -- trees, flowers, grass -- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence... We need silence to be able to touch souls.
  • If we want a love message to be heard, it has got to be sent out. To keep a lamp burning, we have to keep putting oil in it.
  • Let us always meet each other with smile, for the smile is the beginning of love.
  • Spread your love everywhere you go.
  • God has created us to love and to be loved, and this is the beginning of prayer; to know that he loves me, that I have been created for greater things.
  • When you look at electrical things you can see that they are made of small and big wires, cheap and expensive all lined up. Until the current runs through them there will be no light. Those wires are you and me and the current is God. We have the power to let the current pass through us, use us and produce the light of the world or we can refuse to be used and allow darkness to spread.
  • Do not allow yourselves to be disheartened by any failure as long as you have done your best.
  • Intense love does not measure, it just gives.
  • There are no great things, only small things with great love. Happy are those.
  • Everybody today seems to be in such a terrible rush, anxious for greater developments and greater riches and so on, so that children have very little time for their parents. Parents have very little time for each other. And in the home, begins the disruptiof peace of the world.
  • It is easy to love the people far away. It is not always easy to love those close to us. It is easier to give a cup of rice to relieve hunger than to relieve the loneliness and pain of someone unloved in our own home. Bring love into your home for this is where our love for each other must start.
  • What I can do, you cannot. What you can do, I cannot. But together we can do something beautiful for God.

God cannot be mocked.

Never doubt the Word of God.

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Galatians 6:7-8

Here are some men and women who mocked God:

JOHN LENNON:
Some years before during his interview with an
American Magazine, he said:
"Christianity will end, it will disappear. I do not have to argue about that. I am certain. Jesus was ok, but his subjects were too simple, today we are more famous than Him" (1966)".
Lennon, after saying that the Beatles were more famous than Jesus Christ, was shot six times.

TANCREDO NEVES:
Was a Brazilian banker and politician. On January 15, 1985 Tancredo Neves was elected to the Presidency by a majority of the members of Congress. However, just one day before he was scheduled to take the oath of office (March 15, 1985), Neves became severely ill. He suffered from abdominal complications and developed generalized infections. After seven operations, Tancredo Neves died on April 21, 1985.
During the Presidential campaign, he said if he got 500 votes from his party, not even God could remove him from Presidency. Sure he got the votes, but he got sick a day before being made President, then he died.

CAZUZA:
Was a bisexual Brazilian composer, singer and poet. During a show in Rio de Janeiro, whilst smoking his cigarette, he puffed out some smoke into the air and said: God, that's for you.
He died in Rio de Janeiro in 1990 at the age of 32 due to AIDS related illness.

THOMAS ANDREWS: The man who built the Titanic:
After the construction of Titanic, a reporter asked him how safe the Titanic would be. With an ironic tone he said: "Not even God can sink it"
The result: Deadliest ship disaster in history. The Titanic sank during her first and final voyage across the Atlantic Ocean

MARILYN MONROE:
Billy Graham visited her, during a presentation of a show. He is a preacher and Evangelist and the Spirit of God had sent him to preach to her.
After hearing what the Preacher had to say, she said: "I don't need your Jesus"
A week later, she was found dead in her apartment.

BON SCOTT:
The ex-vocalist of the AC/DC On one of his 1979 songs he sang:
"Don't stop me, I'm going down all the way, wow the highway to hell".
On the 19th of February 1980, Bon Scott was found dead, he had been choked by his vomit.

CAMPINAS/SP IN 2005
In Campinas, a group of drunk teens, went to pick up a friend. Her mother accompanied her to the car and was so worried about how intoxicated they were, said to the daughter - holding her hand, who was already seated in the car: "MY DAUGHTER, GO WITH GOD AND MAY HE PROTECT YOU",
She responded: ONLY IF HE (GOD) TRAVELS IN THE Trunk because here inside the car IT'S ALREADY FULL"
Hours later, news came by that they had been involved in a fatal accident, everyone had died, the car could not be recognized what type of car it had been, but surprisingly, the trunk was intact. The police said there was no way the trunk could have remained intact. To their surprise, inside the trunk was a crate of eggs none was broken.
Many more important people have forgotten that there is no other name that was given so much authority as the name of Jesus. Many have died, but only one has resurrected: Jesus.

A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one.

There once was a boy who had a bad temper. One day his father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence.

The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence.

Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper.

The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone. The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence.
He said, "You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same.  When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one.
You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. It won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry, the wound is still there."
A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one.

Just one more thing...

Please forgive me if I have ever left a hole in your fence!

what Money don't buy...

  •   With money you can buy a house, but not a home.
  •   With money you can buy a clock, but not time.
  •   With money you can buy a bed, but not sleep.
  •   With money you can buy a book, but not knowledge.
  •   With money you can buy medicines, but not health.
  •   With money you can buy a position, but not respect.
  •   With money you can buy blood, but not life.
  •   With money you can buy sex, but not love.
Money doesn't buy Happiness, Faith, Hope, Peace, Heaven nor the most important things in Life.

You are important, valuable, loved, needed..

When things don't go as planned;
when people don't treat you right
when you think life is not Fair
You should know:
YOU ARE IMPORTANT
YOU ARE VALUABLE
YOU ARE WANTED
YOU ARE LOVED
YOU ARE NEEDED
The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards.
People who make a difference in your life are the ones that care, support you, listen to you, motivate you, encourage you, and never let you down, and if you do fall they will help you get back on your feet.

It's not what you have in your life but who you have in your life.

Rich is not who has more, Rich is the one who needs less.

We all have love to give.

Give not expecting anything in return.

Losing is winning sometimes.

Live your life with no regrets.

It is wise to forgive and let go. Forgiveness does not change the past, but it does enlarge the future.

In helping others, we shall help ourselves, for whatever good we give out completes the circle and comes back to us.

The best things happen when you least expect it.

The difference between what we do and what we are capable of doing would suffice to solve most of the world's problems. Mahatma Gandhi

Prayers:

THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD
The Lord is my shepherd,
I shall not want;
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters;
He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for His name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley
of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil;
for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life;
and I shall dwell in the house of the
Lord forever.
Psalm 23

Don't give up ...

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit-
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a fellow turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow -
You may succeed with another blow.
Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up
Whe he might have captured the victor's cup;
And he learned too late when the night came down,
How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint in the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It might be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

What surprises you most about mankind?

"What surprises you most about mankind?"
"That they get bored of being children, and rush to grow up, then long to be children again.
"That they lose their health to make money and then lose their money to restore their health.
"That by thinking anxiously about the future, they forget the present, such that they live neither for the present nor the future.

"As a parent, what are some of life's lessons you want your children to learn?"
"To learn that what is most valuable is not what they have in their lives, but who they have in their lives.
"To learn that there are persons that love them dearly, but simply do not know how to express or show their feelings.
"To learn that money can buy everything but happiness.
"To learn that two people can look at the same thing and see it totally different.
"To learn that a true friend is someone who knows everything about them...and likes them anyway.
"To learn that it is not always enough that they be forgiven by others, but that they have to forgive themselves."

* God gave us mouths that close and ears that don't-- that should tell us something.
* Many people have ideas on how others should change; few people have ideas on how they should change. Tolstoy
